Mike and I climbed this peak in the Rustic quad from the Eggers fishing area, where we crossed 14 and followed up a small road for a few tenths of a mile into a large grassy meadow. We then headed west by picking a way through cactus and sagebrush before entering the trees on the north-facing slopes to finish the rest of the climb up. The summit is broad and has two candidates for a high point, but they are both obscured by trees when comparing from the other. At the southwest summit you get a good view down to the river and up the canyon towards Rustic.
Quigley Mountain
This one was burned in the High Park Fire of 2012, but the undergrowth is starting to re-emerge along the old road that leads to the summit area. We parked at the Jack's Gulch Road intersection and passed along the meadow to pick up the faint road and climb the 400 feet to the three summit candidates. The middle one is the summit on maps, but it's believed that the large southern contour holds the highest point. All three points are very close, so there's no reason not to visit them all. From the top you could see the bigger mountains to the southwest through the burned trees.
