Lookout Mountain 10715' and Horsetooth Peak 10344'
My brother had a day off and wanted to hit something quick and easy like Lookout and Horsetooth in Rocky Mountain National Park. I agreed since I'd eyed the pair for a while as well, and we set off for a late morning climb. The trail to Lookout was completely clear of snow and easy to follow to the diving board shaped summit block, which requires Class 4 climbing to top out on. I made it up OK, but my brother with shorter legs and less experience opted out. The views were no better and the wind sucked, so we quickly continued on. Horsetooth is a little more fun to scramble up due to the airy(but short) ridge walk. We decided the true summit was at the north end of the ridge, though I hit the other summit candidates just to be thorough. Not bad for Boulder County peaks (eww).
